I’m fueled by ice cream and imagination, and inspired by comic books, vintage advertisements and fairy tales. My favorite tools are mechanical pencils, watercolor, and gouache, and my work usually features animals, elements of fantasy, and a healthy amount of humor.
I’ve been creating archival prints, notecards, and accessories from my original illustrations under the brand “Sarah Draws Things” since 2012. This line can be currently be found in shops and galleries in 15 states.
I am heavily influenced by the celebrated Philadelphian illustrators who have come before me, especially the early 20th century artists, the Red Rose Girls: Jessie Wilcox Smith, Violet Oakley, and Elizabeth Shippen Green. Their soft colors and strong lines have inspired my own artistic style and voice.
